About Jack

Now 15, Jack has been acting since the age of 9 but his mum says he’s been acting up all his life!  Enjoying life to the full, Jack has relished his time at Point Break Drama Acting School, and all the advantages it has brought him.  Jack will always say that it is the friendships he has formed with like-minded actors that is the best thing about belonging to Point Break Drama, but also the development as an actor on the screen and stage, that has been a revelation and a mark of the investment the school has made in him.

Jack was awarded a Point Break Drama Scholarship in 2008 in the under 13 years category, and has excelled under the expert guidance of Adam Stewart, Matt Charleston & Paul Winchester ever since.  His particular gift for quirky humour and ad-libbing is well known and respected amongst his peers.  Jack excels in Drama Games, and enjoys the challenge of throwing himself into the deep end with his acting buddies.  Point Break Drama’s end of term performances are always a highlight and also represent an opportunity for Jack to do what he does best, while showing some generosity towards his team mates by not stealing all their limelight!  It must be said, that he has picked up a bevy of individual and team awards over the years in this genre.

In 2009, Jack successfully auditioned for a place on the Special Drama Program at Mosman High School, where he still attends and where his abilities in drama have been extended to include, stage direction, animation and short film creation.  He has loved the opportunities and camaraderie of being in a small select acting group at a school with such a strong tradition in the performing arts.

Jack’s acting accolades include landing the role of Brian Hillard, a bully-boy cricketer in the ABC’s award winning children’s drama “My Place”.  Jack was also chosen by the ABC’s marketing department to host the live launch of ABC 3, the new children’s TV channel in 2009.  He shared the stage with the ABC’s TV director, Kym Dalton and ad-libbed and auto-cued his way through repartee with Kym while introducing the new ABC 3 hosts.  Jack has also scored parts in TV commercials and a number of crime reconstructions for various victims of the Discovery Channels’ series ‘Deadly Women’.

More recently, Jack was invited to join Point Break Drama’s advanced acting class, where he soon discovered the demands of more serious acting and subsequently acquired additional skills to further his budding acting passion and career.  Jack’s ambitions include one day, working for Pixar animation studios in the US as well as continuing his acting career closer to home in the meantime.  He also pictures himself in the film industry in some capacity where he may continue to indulge his obsession for movie critique.  He positively delights in pointing out continuity errors in many very well known and Oscar-studded films; so there can be no doubt, not much gets past Jack’s careful scrutiny.  Something of a Spielberg fan, Jack even named his own pet dog after Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones!  One of Point Break’s characters, (AKA ‘scooter boy’) Jack continues to propel himself to class each week on his trusty scooter and looks forward to many more happy years with the school.
