Isabella Harvey

Isabella Harvey is a talented young performer at Point Break Drama. She has been attending acting classes and workshops for 2 years. Isabella has a keen interest in acting as well as singing and dancing and spends over 13 hours a week doing tuition outside of her school commitments.

Isabella has a natural aptitude for performing but knows that to do well as an actor she needs to work hard (and be good to her mother).

Isabella has a passion for entertaining. She loves to make people laugh and enjoys learning new skills and techniques. She listens carefully and has a delightful attitude and a positive approach to all aspects of her life.

Isabella is currently performing in Opera Australia’s production of La Boheme at the Sydney Opera House. Isabella auditioned for the role in the children’s chorus in February this year. Isabella says “The rehearsals were quite long and required us to focus, listen and follow instructions. I needed to learn to sing in Italian but performing on the stage at the Opera house is so much fun so it was all worth it”. La Boheme continues until October 24. It is quite a long season but she is looking forward to auditioning for the next Opera that requires children in the chorus.

Isabella continues “The thing I have learned the most is that acting and singing requires quite a lot of discipline. There can be times when you are waiting around for your turn on stage and you need to be patient and quiet off stage”.

Isabella has also had a guest role on the ABC Series “Crownies”. She says “It was a great experience being on a TV set. We did the shoot outdoors and it was a windy and cold day so you need to get used to working in different environments”.

Even though Isabella is only 12 years old, she knows that acting and singing requires dedication and persistence and her professional experiences have helped her to realise that she definitely wants to pursue performing as a career.

Isabella has attended many auditions for stage musicals and TV commercials and she adds “This is all great experience and every time I audition I gain more confidence in my capabilities. The workshops at Point Break Drama have been very helpful as well”.

She adds “I have an Agent – Encompass Entertainment who advise me of roles as they become available. I really appreciate the opportunities that are presented to me”

In addition to acting, Isabella also participates in 5 genres of dance (Classical Ballet, Physical Culture, Jazz, Modern and Lyrical) and has private singing lessons once a week. She will soon be performing in her school musical in the role of Augustina in Cinderella Rockefella.

Isabella says “I couldn’t do any of this without my Mum who drives me everywhere. My Mum and Dad always encourage me to follow my dreams and I am hoping to start busking during the Christmas school holidays to build on my performance skills in public”.

Isabella is a very active young lady and is looking forward to participating in more performance activities when she starts high school at Stella Maris in Manly next year.

We wish you all the very best for your future on stage and screen Isabella.
