“Surviving Love” is a feature length teen film that pokes fun at this period where love is seen as the ‘be all to end all’. Basically those who aren’t in love (or those that aren’t experiencing love) aren’t living at all. This is a story about a high school romance, which doesn’t last (surprise, surprise!)…
Powell is haunted by remnant feelings of his high school ex D’ (Desire). Broken by the less then pleasant breakup, this left the usually confident Powell physically and mentally debilitated by the thought of her, let alone a confrontation with her. Powell is now a firm disbeliever in the concept of love and avoids it (and her) at all costs.
However Geoff (his womanizing best friend), has devised a fool proof plan for Powell to get D’ back – and with their High School annual reunion party around the corner he has the perfect to change to unveil the new ‘Powell’.
Through this journey it forces both Powell and Geoff to assess themselves, who they are in this world, and who they eventually want to be. Both Powell and Geoff (with the help of Amy (Powell’s friend from University) begin to finally understand what is important about love and hope that they actually survive it long enough to find that special person.
Currently looking to cast the four main principle cast members:
* Powell (socially awkward male lead – think J.D from ‘Scrubs’) – aged between 20-22
* Geoff (womanizing, ‘jock-like’ 2nd male lead) – aged between 20-22
* Amy (‘girl-next-door’ female lead) – aged between 20-22
* D’ (the ‘bitchy/popular’ female antagonist). – aged between 20-22
There are also a range of varied, smaller roles throughout the story, available to those who are interested!
