Film Acting – Advanced
February 21 @ 7:00 pm - March 28 @ 9:00 pm$350 - $378
Film acting is demanding at the best of times. It requires incredible focus and dedication to do film acting well.
Actors must be prepared for the inevitable & difficult task of having to shoot scenes out of sequence (sometimes starting with the last scene first), whilst delivering strong believable characters & pitching the performance in the correct emotional / energetic zone.
The Advanced Screen Acting course at Point Break drama provides rigorous training for anyone hoping to work professionally in TV or film. As students, we were given an authentic experience which demanded commitment and preparation from the actors and the replication of film set conditions while shooting. This gave us a a great insight into the many and varied qualities and demands that filming puts upon an actor. The course gave us a thorough understanding of different techniques and angles for shooting a scene and the acting techniques required. The biggest challenge and reward for me was building a character and sustaining that character’s arc throughout the filming process, despite the fact that scenes might be shot out of chronological order, as would be the case on a real film set. FILM ACTING ADVANCED – THE COURSE
The FILM ACTING ADVANCED course will challenge actors to come prepared for class each week delivering performances crafted for the story, and character journey of the piece. Actors will play a series of different scenes playing the same character each week of the course.
