American Accent Workshop Teen – Gabriella Maselli McGrail

The American Accent Workshop teen ( 11 – 17YRS) with Gabriella Maselli McGrail has a strong focus on technique and practical application. The focus of the workshop will be to work on the standard American accent. The workshop includes:

• Accent drills and voice work FOR 11- 17YRS ONLY

• Breaking down a one-page scene together, highlighting key sounds

• Each actor records: – 1 slate – 1 TVC – 1 one-page scene 

Designed to give actors usable material for reels while building confidence and accuracy in the accent.

Parents and students in the week running up to the workshop will be encouraged to look through the Dropbox folder and run through a few scenes – with the goal of choosing ONE to bring to the workshop.

Children & Teens should prepare this scene prior to workshop ( learning lines – make acting choices) or alternatively can be assisted to learn a script on the day. The workshop will cater for last minute enrolments / students who have NOT had time to prepare a scene too if they require more assistance. 

US Accent  Workshop Teen – Teacher 

Gabriella is an accomplished actress & filmmaker with 30 years of practical experience in the industry. She works as a writer, director, dramaturg, producer and casting associate for Theatre, Film and TV. Her company Maselli Films has been awarded the Randwick City Council Creative Grant and Screenrights Cultural Grant to produce short form projects and mentorship for female water cinematographers. She has written, produced and directed TV episodes on Foxtel, short films, radio and theatre shows. She has created industry workshops, courses, educational drama programmes, and is the author of industry eBook (Transform Your Ad Audition!) Gabriella currently works as a Dramaturg on TVCs assisting with children’s performances alongside award-winning directors.

Gabriella is a renowned coach for actors, presenters and public speakers on a national and global scale due to her artistic intelligence, wealth of knowledge and all-round expertise. She specialises in working with Children and Teens in all aspects of filmmaking and drama.
