American Accent Workshop Teens
American Accent Workshop teens intensive will give participants an edge with castings. Point Break Drama is thrilled to welcome one of Australia’s best accent coaches, Kai Paynter for an exclusive two day action- packed American Accent Workshop for Kids & teenagers (9-16yrs) on the 22nd & 29th August 2020.
The workshop will take place over two half days ( 9am – 1pm) on both 22nd & 29th August.
Kai will teach and take students through a workout of the Standard American Accent.
With locally made American films and self taping now the norm, its vital for all aspiring actors to have great American accents.

Kai will take Kids & teens through a series of exercises & drills,applying them to American scene work in front of the camera.

Kai Paynter is an American acting coach, currently based in Sydney and is a local in Los Angeles. She is an MFA graduate of one of the top 10 US Acting Graduate programs – University of California, Irvine. She also holds a degree from Purdue University in Political Science.
Kai studied alongside celebrities including Grace Byers, Kara Song Wang and at Purdue University, graduates included John Lovitz and Sir Bill Duke. She started her performing career as a singer, travelling nationally and internationally, as a featured soloist with PMO.
Kai has been a featured actress in national campaigns, television series’, and stage / musical productions. In addition, Kai has coached some of the freshest faces on television/stage, as well as many students for entry into such institutions as: Columbia University, NYU (Tish), and Yale University in dramatic graduate studies.
Some of Kai’s students include: Kiki Masella (ABCs, Grace besides Me), Luke Patrick (Shortland Street), Willow Speer (7 Network, Packed to the Rafters), Courtney Louise (ABC’s Superwog), Jacob Haren (Book of Mormon, US National Tour), and Rachelle Rose Clark (Anything Goes, US National Tour).
Kai’s teaching background is as follows: acting for the camera & the stage, voice & speech, voice-over & accent, movement for the actor, singing and musical theatre. As a writer/director, Kai is pitching a US pilot in LA, making rounds in the entertainment circuit. Together with partner, Kirk Carrington-Hastings they formed BearTiger Productions where they produce and develop music, film, theatre, television, radio and digital content.

COVID – 19 Safety Policy
1.) No one with Cold or Flu like symptoms will be permitted in the venue including students, parents, teachers. Symptoms including but not exclusive to sore throats, runny nose, sneezing & coughing.
2.) Do not come to class / workshop if you’ve made contact with someone with Covid – 19 in last 14 days.
3.) Windows and doors will be left open to ensure continuous air flow.
4.) Parent / guardian are not permitted to enter the venue. All students are to be dropped and signed in at the foyer entrance to venue.
5.) All students must apply hand sanitiser upon entry.
5.) Participants will be sent home if not feeling well
6.) All kitchen surfaces, door handles & knobs will be wiped down with disinfectant before and after class.
7.) Participants must keep safe 1.5 distance from teachers. Adult students must maintain 1.5 metre from each other.
8.) Participants must bring water bottle ( No cups provided). NO sharing of food permitted.
9.) In the event of any future Covid- 19 out breaks / closure of venue / teachers falling sick etc make up classes will be offered on the zoom platform.
10.) In the event of future shutdowns refunds will not be offered. Classes will be offered on zoom.
