Annabel CottonAnnabel’s career began in radio journalism and news reading in London.  After moving to Sydney and starting a family, she resolved to revisit her passion for acting.

Since discovering Point Break Drama Acting School about 8 years ago, Annabel has completed theatre, acting for camera, improvisation and short film courses.

Annabel performed with Point Break Drama in the musical, ‘The Kiss’ at the Newtown Short and Sweet Festival this year . The play, written by Point Break Drama’s resident playwright, Judy Judd-Sandwell, won the Peoples’ Choice award for its week in competition.  In previous years she’s also performed at the festival with the comedy theatre group Larf Opus, in ‘Séance’ and ‘Industrial Accident’.

 

Annabel has appeared in a number of TV commercials and corporate videos and recently featured in the Oscar short-listed short film ‘ The Ground Beneath’.

She was also cast in the BBC TV historical drama documentary ‘The Floating Brothel’.

Annabel has performed with the Phoenix Theatre Company in Chatswood and the Questor’s Theatre Company in London.  There, her credits included Oscar Wilde’s ‘Lady Windermere’s Fan’ and the 1920s schoolgirl spoof ‘Daisy Pulls It Off’, by Denise Deegan.  While at university in Cardiff, Wales, Annabel performed in Eugene Ionesco’s absurdist piece ‘Amedee’, Stags and Hens’ by Willy Russell and ‘God’ by Woody Allen.

While still awaiting her big Hollywood break, Annabel is biding her time bringing up three children on the Northern Beaches.

 

Point Break Drama has opened up a raft of opportunities and has given me a personal creative outlet that I thought I would never have again. Annabel Cotton
